Years: 1997 – now
Thoughts: It’s hard to put this band in a certain genre. I almost put world music instead of blues-rock, because the band is influenced by everything on certain songs but you can find blues in almost all of their songs, it’s their primary influence. Derek Trucks is now in the Allman Brothers band, he’s the nephew of Butch Trucks. He’s still making stuff with his own band though, they have a new album coming out this year.

The dude’s always been a little too tasteful for my liking. He’s a good player, but a little too pretty for me. I haven’t heard much from him though, so I’m not really in a position to judge.
EDIT: I’m listening to Already Free right now, and I’m liking it pretty good. He’s just not gritty enough for me to really love though. “Get What You Deserve” sounds a little more up my alley.
