Which elective should I take: Neuroscience or New Media Economics?
Here is a short course info about each one:
Neuroscience – students will learn about a variety of topics, including, how our brains observe the world, imagine, fall in love, feel pain, respond to injury, develop, and respond to drugs or psychotherapy. Brain-machine interface technologies and cutting edge findings will also be explored.
New Media Economics – why companies such as Google and Yahoo are so successful, and why traditional media organizations are struggling to make money on the Internet. Among the topics to be covered are online news, weblogs, searching, e-commerce, ebay, online games, political action organizations, social networking sites and online distribution of music and videos.
My major is computer science, but the elective doesn’t need to relate to it all, it’s just a general requirement.
Which one should I take and WHY? Has anybody taken anything similar to these, like nueroscience or stuff related to electronic media ?
New Media Econ. That neuro course sounds “fluffy” you won’t really learn anything that applies to the real world in there.
