Royalty Free Music Use
Can I use copyrighted music I’ve purchased for use in a DVD slideshow business?
I’m very interested in starting a small home business creating slide shows/movies. But I was curious about the copyright restrictions. Can I use music that I buy in a slide show and be able to sell that to a customer?
I’ve been looking at other sites who slide show creations, and they all say something different. One site uses royalty free music, one insists you provide/pay for the CD or music download, and one will use absolutely anything.
So how does that work? If I pay for a song, am I entitled to sell a DVD with pictures set to the music?
If not, how would getting permission for such a business work? Or is that even plausible?
You can’t use copyrighted music. I think you would need to get in touch with the music liscence people. I can’t remember their name at the moment, but they usually have little signs in the windows of pubs with jukeboxes. I think they would help you with your questions about copyright and royalties.
