Trouble burning files copied from iPod?
I just backed up my music on my iPod using YamiPod (the only free backup tool I could find). My problem is when I tried to burn them. First used Nero Express. It locked up after giving some kind of error. Then I tried using Windows’ built in burner. It kept saying it was unable to copy the files into the burn folder. Now most of my music is not iTunes or copy protected (most are rips), and the few that were copy protected I didn’t try to add, and yet every single file it had problems with. What is going on here? I need to back-up my music!
Okay, maybe I wasn’t clear. I have around 3 gigs worth of music files. I want to burn them to a data DVD. But Windows keeps saying it has a problem when trying to copy them. Any of them.
If you’re trying to burn an audio CD, have you tried burning directly from iTunes? Do the songs play but not burn?
The one thing I used to do when I got error messages with mp3 files that weren’t copy-protected was use one of my mp3 converter programs to basically see if I could convert my mp3s to burnable mp3 files, i.e. correct any errors in the files (I would select the option where it just replaces the original file so I wouldn’t have two copies of every song). That pretty much always worked. If you have a lot of songs, that might take a while. If you try this, I would suggest doing enough for an audio CD, then see if they burn after that. If not, you know not to keep converting all of them. Try using iTunes first, though.
