What are the chances of you getting caught downloading illegal music etc, off programs like Limewire?
I’m trying to get my friend on the side of good and stop her from downloading music illegally, and I need some facts to back it up, just to get her in the Conscience.
What are the chances of getting caught illegally downloading music, videos etc?
I know there are thousands of people who do it, and there are people out their being caught. Are there any figures for this? Anything at all? Thanks.
I don’t thing that the actual downloading is the problem. It’s more the computer that’s supplying the download. I was once using a peer to peer program and had a folder on my computer which I used to both store downloads and have other users download from. Of course it was called ‘My Shared Folder”. Anyway one of the files I had in there was Norton Ghost or something similar. I received an email from the people that owned the rights to that software asking me to remove it from my shared folder or they would take legal action. This goes to prove that these software company’s do indeed protect their rights and check online to see that these rights are not abused. I didn’t push my luck and removed that particular software program from my computer.
