How is Lady Gaga an innovator?
I was listening to the radio today and they were saying she’s such an innovator in music today with her music videos and eccentric personality. Ok how is this so? How can you be an innovator when everything you do now has been done before? Music videos with a story line was started by Michael Jackson. Madonna was basically a shock artist and was in a lot of controversy for her over the top sexuality. Grace Jones was weird and eccentric did a lot of things for shock value. So how is it that all of a sudden these people mean nothing and Lady Gaga is the innovator for all such things? Or can someone explain to me how she is an innovator without including none of the things I listed before. And I’m not saying Lady Gaga says these things but the public is giving her too much credit. I find it strange and annoying that they are calling her an innovator. Maybe they don’t know the definition of the word and is just trying to say she is a great artist.
Agreed – Gaga is soooo overrated!! It’s just because she is such a mediawh*re that she has been made into something better than she actually is. She does things for shock value, she is all about the image but if you look beyond that she is no different from the other so called “celebs” of today. Gaga is like the person of the moment but give it a couple of years and hopefully it will be someone different. Gaga is nowhere near as good or innovative as Michael Jackson or Madonna, it has all been done before =D
