why is my internet slow even when it says im running at 1.5mbps?
I brought a vaio laptop roughly 5 months ago, spent over my budget because it had i decent review, i use it for work, surfing the net and the odd game i.e. football manager. For the last coule of months it has become really slow, pages take alot longer to load, watching videos and listening to music on sites like youtube skip and jump constantly, even tho in peak times ive checked the speed of the connection and it says im getting 1.5mbps. Any ideas why? for the first couple of months my fire wall and anti virus were the free trials like mcafee but i changed to AVG free and Zonealarm when these trials ran out. Are they causing the problems? their the only programmes i installed about the time that it went slow.
I advise you to run an anti-malware program like avast or ad-aware. If that doesn’t work you may want it to get reloaded. (most computers need a good reloading every few years, depending on how much you use it, and…well..what you use it for)
