how can i take apart a song by having a seperate loop for vocals/beat/audio etc?
i really like remixing songs but its hard trying to find 2 songs that match completely so i want to try to take apart one song. whats a good free music studio thats user friendly to take apart songs? audacity is garbage and i am still yet to find a youtube video that explains it well. i wish their was just a button you could click to completely tear apart a song into seperate loops for each different beat
There is no way that this can be accomplished with today’s current technology.
Reason:
In the studio… many individual tracks are recorded to compose a song
Example Track Sheet:
Track 1 – Lead Vocal
Track 2 – Harmony vocal
Track 3 – Rhythm Guitar
Track 4 – Lead Guitar
Track 5 – Keyboard
Track 6 – Drums – Left channel (stereo)
Track 7 – Drums – Right channel (stereo)
Track 8 – Bass Guitar
These 8 tracks of recording is called the Master
Once each track is recorded… The volume is set for each track, The the Pan (Left speaker or Right speaker) is set for each track… Effects are set for each track… and equalization (EQ) is set for each track.
Then all eight recorded music tracks are mixed down to a 2 track stereo recording…. this becomes the Stereo CD, Tape or Vinyl album.
So now you have 2 tracks (stereo Left and Stereo Right… your “Balance” control knob) … all all the music/sounds are together either in Left, Right or Both in the stereo field. There is no way to isolate one sound out of the 8 instruments/vocals recorded. You would need the master and only play back the one track for an isolation (mute the other 7 tracks).
I sometimes record in the studio with over 24 individual tracks of instruments…. then this is again mixed down to 2 stereo tracks (Left and Right).
The best example of what occurs here would be to get an early Beatles stereo album or record… (Example: Sgt. Pepper – Song “When I’m Sixty Four)… and play the song.
Take the Balance control and turn it to the far left so only the Left speaker is playing… What you will hear is only the music (all the musical instuments.. piano, horns, clarinet, guitars, bass, drums in the Left speaker… no vocals. Now turn the Balance Control to the far Right (right speaker is only playing now)… what you know here is only the vocals and harmonies,,,
There may be 8 to 16 different instruments but they are mixed down to two tracks… Left and Right in the stereo field.
Surround sound recordings add to the 2 stereo tracks … for 5.1 Sourround you have Left and Right Front, Left and Right Rear, Center and Sub woofer…. so six tracks instead of the stereo 2.
