Free Music Videos Megaupload
a few questions about downloading from torrents, rapidshare.com/megaupload.com and legal issues?
i just want to know if i can be sued for downloading as long as i don’t make a profit from the songs/videos etc. i also would like to know if i would be more likely to be caught for limewire or rapidshare/torrents. just one last question. Is there a way to keep them from detecting you like some sort of software or maybe a setting i can change on my pc. i don’t download to much but i still do it sometimes and if i really like an album i will buy it so i don’t just download free music but i still would like to avoid all possibilities of being sued.
there are programs that can hide your proxy/ip address for anonymous internet use, but the reality is, the police can get past almost anything

it could be either a civil law suit
or prosecution under international criminal law
your chances of being caught when you just download something here and there is next to nothing
they are out to catch those making a profit
not the small guys like you
but theoretically yet you could
one way might be if the police had a warrant to search your computer for other purpose (maybe suspect in another crime)
otherwise noone would know what youve done on the internet
your isp cant give out that info unless police have a warrant because it is invasion of privacy
