Free Music Streaming Service
Was this illegal or am I allowed to do this..?
Hey guys,
Today I signed up to a music downloading service similar to iTunes, called eMusic, as they had a offer of 25 free mp3 downloads, and £9.99 a month thereafter. I downloaded two albums (23 tracks) and cancelled my account. I still have the songs on my computer. Was this illegal? Or was it okay for me to do this. I feel kinda bad because it’s my favourite band’s music I’ve downloaded and I haven’t paid for any of it. I usually pay for music or just stream.
Opinions please..
Forgot to mention I got the confirmation email stating that I won’t be charged for anything.
its not illegal at all. the site offers you an incentive to join up (25 free tracks). what they hope is that of all the people that take up the offer of 25 free tracks (which would cost around £25 usually), at least a few of them stay with them and subscribe to the 9.99 a month deal. its the way many businesses have worked for years. give away freebies to loads of people, hope some will stay.
