Free Music Publisher Software
Can I legally use music software with royalty free sound bytes to produce my own music demos for publishers?
I am using a music composition software with royalty free sound bytes to create my own meolodies and arrangements to accompany my original lyrics, i.e., I’m using the guitar riffs, drum beats, etc., but altering or arranging them manually into a song. Is it legal for me to send the completed songs as original demos to publishers or sell them as my own songs? By the way I’m asking before I do it because I don’t want to do anything illegal or violate copyright laws. (This question also appears under government/legal/ethics.)
You’d really have to check the terms of the software that you are using. Best is to send them an email and have it in black and white.
