108 mala/prayers for a Buddhist?
I’m a little new to Buddhism, and I feel I’m ready for the next step, which, for me, is memorizing the 108 prayers. But I have so many questions! And because I live in America, it’s not like I can walk down the street to a Buddhist temple, haha.
1. Are there more than one set of 108 prayers?
2. Which one should I do, as a beginner?
3. Should I memorize the english or the real translation, or both?
4. When do I repeat them?
and finally, 5, where do I find them? Is there a website I can see them for free? I have been looking everywhere online, and all I can find are cd’s to buy or meditation music, or the beads themselves. Help!
I think You need to start at the beginning
Spend a couple of days visiting the following sites and take Your time In the end You will have a far better idea of where You are
There are many Schools and Sects within Buddhism and it does take some time to get a feel for it but the time will be well spent I can assure You
