How to use past tense in German?
I’m writing an essay and still confused on structure of answering questions based on media/computers that I do in my free time. I need present and past tense (e.g gespielst). Opinions and how to talk about family/friends and what they do in their free time.
Please tell me how I would structure sentences in these questions:
“Was machst du ger in deiner Freizeit?” Present tense
“Was mach du nicht gern?” Present tense
Past tense for all below please talking about my self not others.
“Was fur Sendungen siehst du im Fernsehen?”
“Do I often watch TV?”
What and when do I listen to music?
Favourite kind of program.

Note: This is GCSE german
i dont want to tell you the answers because you are meant to be doing coursework by yourself… but i will help you by giving you a few basic rules that i learnt when i did german GCSE last year.
Regular verbs in the past tense begin with GE and end in T. they go to the end of the sentence. the second “idea” ( after time phrase or person) is a form of the verb haben (defending on whether you are talking in first person, second etc). the time phrase has to either be first or after the form of haben
just remember TMP which stands for time (when you did the activity), manner (who you did it with) and place (where you did it) –> this works for any tense, you then just need to add in the bits i said above about the two verbs.
eg: Letzten Wochenede habe ich mit meinen Familien ins einen Restaurant gegessen.
however when you are talking about movement, its slightly different. instead of using “haben” you use a form of “sind” it is still the second idea though.
eg : ich bin gestern mit meine Schwester in der Stadt einkaufen gegangen.
