In search of a free popular, easy-to-use, sophisticated, song remixer for djs & non-DJs, please help?
I listen to underground music, RnB, hip hop, and songs with a baddass, club, hypnotic, addictive beat with great lyrics.
Easy to use and sophisticated are at two different ends of the spectrum. You can’t take someone who knows absolutely nothing about music and have them remixing songs, just like that – there’s always a learning curve, and the more you want to do the more time (and often money) it takes to do it.
I know of no program that will do what you want for free. Perhaps a program like Audacity, an open source recording and editing app, might do the trick for you, but I kinda doubt it.
If you want quality you’ve pretty much gotta pay for it.
That said, there are free trials of many popular recording/mixing programs – Pro Tools, N-Track, and especially Reaper, the one I use.
Most people who do this kind’ve stuff use Acid or Fruity Loops, but as long as you have the different parts of the song you can do it with most sequencing programs.
You do have the different parts of the song as separate samples, right? Cuz that’s the only way you can truly remix a song….
