Free Music Library Downloads
is it legal to download music from your friend’s iPod into your iTunes library, vice versa?
I just deleted hundreds of songs from the public library because I’ve learned it’s illegal to permanantly keep them. I’m wondering if it’s the same when you download free music from another’s ipod. Please only answer if you know for sure.
Depends what you mean by “free music”.
If the music was legally downloaded for free because the copyright owner chose to make it openly available, then it’s legal. If you got it free because your friend downloaded it through his paid subscription, or from a service like LimeWire, then it’s illegal.
