Free Music Jill Scott
Music wizards (especially those into Erykah Badu/Jill Scott type music…RnB, hybrid etc!! Please help!!!?
Hi all!
I heard a song a few years back in River Island and have searched desperately for it ever since.
It sounded very much like Erykah Badu, with a sprinkling of Jill Scott, somewehre in bewtween but closer to good old Erykah.
It had quite a booming, addictive bass-line and sounded like a funky neo-soul/modern RnB trip-hop hybrid.
All I remember the artiste singing was something on the lines of:
“I’ll fly away, like a butterfly, from leaf to leaf…”
Very deep lyrics, a lush, sensual, background. Maybe it’s my imagination, but the theme of growing from a caterpillar and then flying away may have been mentioned too. Very descriptive lyrics about flying through leaves, from branch to branch, leaf to leaf, an airy, free sound etc.
(I know, it’s not a lot to go on!!)
It sounded very futuristic and experimental.
I KNOW it’s NOT ‘Fly Away’ by Erykah (collaboration) NOR is it ‘Butterfly’by her.
PLEASE help! I know its a hard one but id be eternally grateful!
I’ve been lookin for that song and can’t seem to find it,u remember anything else about it?It sounds familiar to me.
