What’s the best piece of free software to edit a music file?
Basically I want to use the middle section of a song I have on MP3 as a ringtone for my phone. What is the best piece of free software I can download which will allow me to isolate a section of the song, cutting off the beginning and end?
I recommend Audacity – this is definitely the way to go for editing an MP3 for a ringtone. Then you can upload the song as a ringtone to your phone with BitPm (another free open-source software). See the last link of my sources for a video tutorial.
Audacity is free, open source software for recording and editing sounds. It is available for Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows, GNU/Linux, and other operating systems.
