Creating audio from a video game, making good soundtrack?
So I'm working with some people in a videogame. This guy I know has entered a competition with a team that created our university and needed someone to create audio. Now I took some courses in audio production, which are part of my career, but mostly did things like the audio editing made lists on the computer using software (wave lab) or recording in the studio or with an external recorder. But not really create any kind of music. I know some of the piano and play the drums and I have the intention to create music with some software like Fruityloops or recording to computer via MIDI. Now what I want to ask is, do you have any suggestions? From the sounds of explosions and things progress so I'll find online. I can not burn it. But I want the music that I can. Any ideas? It sure is going to be a game with robots. So I prefer to create the audio if possible, I rather go for some downloads royalty free online.
What makes a good soundtrack that you ask? If use the songs you want to go along with the mood of the game or the atmosphere. You had said it would be a game with robots and stuff, but most audio styles could be incorporated into it – if anything techno thing, but that's just my opinion. But have fun and I hope it works out!
