Can’t remember the name of the song… Driving me nuts!!!?
I can barely even remember the lyrics to this one song, let alone the name of it, but I remember it was an awesome song about a strong girl who lived in a real rough situation growing up. She’s reminiscing and talks about how they used newspaper for toilet paper and how she would go and ask the neighbors for bread or eggs. There is a part in the song where she talks about cockroaches being everywhere… I believe in the music video she is walking through her old house as she sings it and there are flashbacks.
Seems to me that it was by a big-time female artist such as Mary J, but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t Mary. I know my details aren’t great, but if anyone can come up with this song, then you are a true music guru. This was a GREAT song!
