Band Photos Online
Is it illegal to make shirts online using Google images and then using photo editing?
I use different photo’s on Google of things I like such as bands and flags. I’m not going to sell them but to have fro myself
If you want to go by what is written in copyright law, then yes, technically it is illegal. This even includes copying the image to your computer or copying the image to another medium. Even if the image doesn’t have a copyright notice on it, the photographers still hold copyright as soon as the picture was snapped. There are ways to use it legally (permission from photographer, fair use).
But to follow the law EXACTLY is not very realistic. People copy images for personal use all the time. It’s not a big deal. Photographers won’t find out, and even if they did, they won’t pursue you unless you cause them lost profit (which you won’t be doing).
In conclusion, I say go for it!
